From Shenaky to California.
Shenaky Winery was inspired by my birthplace, the village of Shenaky in the Istalif district, north of Kabul.
A personal journey expressed through small-batch winemaking.
I was born in Shenaky, a village in the Istalif district north of Kabul, surrounded by a grand mountain landscape. Its beauty, memories, and sense of place have remained with me throughout my life and inspired the name Shenaky Winery.
Years spent in France deepened my appreciation for wine,not simply as a drink, but as part of culture, family, hospitality, and the pleasure of gathering around a table.
California gave me the opportunity to bring these influences together. I began making wine in 2009, guided by curiosity and a desire to create something personal with my own hands. Since then, I have continued to learn, refine my methods, and produce limited quantities with care and patience.
For me, wine is a link between places and generations. Each bottle reflects memories of Shenaky, the appreciation for wine I developed in France, and the life I built in California. Most of all, it is meant to be shared.
